This tool will help transfer data from PostgreSQL to DB2 databases. This tool does it automatically and saves time when the IT department has to do this often or they have to transfer large amounts of data from one to the other. The scheduling features become very handy in such situations. There is a couple of ways of doing the transfers. One of the direct ways is to set up correspondence between input table and the fields to the destination table in DB2 and the fields. The second way is to harvest data through queries on the input data base and then pass them to the destination. This has a simple and easy to use interface. It is intuitive enough that most users should get familiar with it quite easily. Getting productive with it should not take much time. Set ups can be done visually and saved for reuse.
The interface also has a wizard that makes everything easier all round. Of course the direct transfer is going to be faster. The interface also offers a command-line for simple and quick way of getting the transfers done easily, but you will need to have experience built up using the tool so that you could choose parameters properly. You also could convert a set of tables in a batch process. There is a progress bar indicating progress of the transfer operation. It indicates the time taken and time required to complete a session. Percentage transfer completed, number of records transferred are couple of other things you get to see. This is a very good tool. If you have a need, try it out in your own set up.
